Why we built pinthread: visual feedback for AI coding agents.
Disclosure: We make pinthread.
Screenshots can lose the element and page context a coding agent needs.
Reviewers take screenshots, circle buttons in red, and drop images into Slack or issue trackers. An engineer must read the image, open the repository, find the file, and locate the button.
Coding agents still need to inspect the repository and verify their changes. We built pinthread to carry the feedback context into that work.
Comments attached to real elements
pinthread puts a review widget directly on your website.
A reviewer selects a headline, button, image, or card and types a comment. pinthread anchors the thread to the CSS selector, visible element text, and page path. If the reviewer opts in, pinthread also captures browser console logs and network errors.
Reviewers can reply and react in the thread. They sign in with Google or join as named guests. You can also restrict projects to invited accounts.
The widget uses ShadowRoot isolation to reduce host-style interference.
The coding agent loop over MCP
Create a project token in the pinthread dashboard. Then add the remote MCP server to your agent configuration.
list_threads: List unresolved comments across the project.get_thread: Read the thread, selector, page URL, and any captured logs.get_page_context: Inspect open feedback on a single route.reply_thread: Reply with what code the agent changed.resolve_thread: Close the feedback item after the agent verifies the fix.
The agent receives selector and page context. Source references depend on integration metadata. Your coding agent inspects the repository, edits code, verifies the result, and reports it. pinthread does not write or test code itself.
See the MCP documentation for tools and setup.

- pinthread product code is closed source.
- CSS selectors can drift when you rewrite a component tree.
