Add visual feedback to your Nuxt app.

Nuxt adds every script in app.head to each page it renders. Add pinthread there once, and reviewers can comment on any route.

01 · Create a project

Sign up free with Google and create a project in the dashboard. Its Install tab shows the tag with your project key filled in. The Free plan costs $0 a month.

No Nuxt app yet? Start one:

npm create nuxt@latest my-app

02 · Add the script tag

nuxt.config.ts

export default defineNuxtConfig({
  app: {
    head: {
      script: [
        {
          src: "https://pinthread.dev/embed.js",
          "data-project": "YOUR_PROJECT_KEY",
          defer: true,
        },
      ],
    },
  },
});

Add the script to app.head.script. Nuxt renders it with the data-project and defer attributes on every page.

Replace YOUR_PROJECT_KEY with the key from the Install tab. The key is public: it only tells the widget which project to load.

03 · Check that it works

Run npm run dev and open the address Nuxt prints, such as http://localhost:3000. The pinthread button shows at the edge of the page, and the project’s Install tab changes from waiting to installed. Click the button, sign in, and pin a comment to any element.

Pages on localhost and 127.0.0.1 load pinthread for every project. For a deployed site, add its address under the project’s Settings.

Troubleshooting

The button does not appear

Open the page source and look for embed.js. If it is missing, check that script is inside app.head, not at the top level of the config.

You want comments on some pages only

Leave the config as it is and call useHead with the same script in those pages instead.

The button shows locally but not on your host

Add the deployed address under the project’s Settings. Local addresses work without this step.

Connect your coding agent

pinthread is also an MCP server. Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex can read every comment with its page and element, make the change, and reply in the thread.

Questions

Does pinthread work with Nuxt server-side rendering?

Yes. Nuxt renders the script tag into the HTML of each page. The widget then starts in the browser.

Do I need a Nuxt module for pinthread?

No. The script tag in nuxt.config.ts is all you need.
