When Userback fits better

  • Each bug report needs console logs, network requests, or session replay.
  • Your team manages feedback in two-way synced Jira or ClickUp tickets.
  • You collect feedback from end users via survey widgets and feature portals.

When pinthread fits better

  • You want a free plan where feedback stays available permanently, not locked after 7 days.
  • Your coding agent needs remote MCP access on the free plan to inspect and resolve comments.
  • Your team discusses changes in real time in threads on the page.

Switch from Userback

  1. Sign up free and create a project for your site.
  2. Paste the script tag into your shared layout.
  3. Add each address where your site runs in the project's Settings.
  4. Remove the Userback widget snippet from your site, so reviewers see one feedback button.
  5. Connect your agent. The agent guide has the setup for Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex.

Questions

Is pinthread free?

Yes. The Free plan costs $0 a month, needs no credit card, and includes every feature, with agent access over MCP.

Do reviewers need an account?

No. On a project with link access, reviewers can comment as a named guest. A guest name is not a verified identity. Owners can restrict a project to invited Google accounts.

Can my coding agent read and resolve comments on the free plan?

Yes. pinthread includes its remote MCP server at https://pinthread.dev/mcp on the Free plan, with read and write tokens per project. Userback excludes MCP connectors from its Free Forever plan and requires the paid Team plan.

How long does feedback stay available?

pinthread keeps your feedback permanently without a time cutoff. On Userback's Free Forever plan, feedback is locked after 7 days unless you upgrade to a paid plan.
